Health Care Assurance Project for Street Children
Health, and access to healthcare, are important issues for most people; for children living in streets, they are critical. Street-connected children often do not have the adequate resources, support, or funding to access adequate healthcare, resulting in a significantly increased risk of major health problems. Understandably, these street children and their families are financially unable to afford health services in private health facilities and to buy medicines on their own. We provided them with information on growth and development, sexual and reproductive health, substance use, prevention of disease, promotion of good health and other issues such as rights and laws for 36 months in Dhaka City in association with Neer Sheba Shangstha.
