Motivational Program on FP, MCH, RH & Gender Issue through Street Drama (JV)
Street play is one of the oldest theatre forms and a widely used performing art form where the artists enact in public places with no specific target audience to build awareness on various social, health, rights, and climate change issues to disseminate critical messages and convey a message to the crowd watching it. A large body of evidence has documented the effectiveness of street play programs in increasing contraceptive use, spousal reproductive decision-making including family size and fertility regulation, positive reproductive behaviour, MCH, RH & gender issues is well documented. This was a project under the program of Information Education and Communication (IEC), the unit of IIM, Directorate General of Family Planning Bangladesh in the fiscal year of 2018-2019. This program was administrated in coordination with La-Jownes International in Three hill districts, Chattogram and in all upazilas of Sylhet. We demonstratedt 420 street plays under this program.
