Supporting Engagement of the Civil Society for COVID-19 Response
COVID-19, the severe acute respiratory syndrome, is a contagious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. COVID-19 transmits when people breathe air contaminated by droplets and small airborne particles containing the virus. The virus can infect Respiratory tract, Nervous system, Gastrointestinal tract, Cardiovascular system, kidneys etc. Herd immunity makes it hard for the disease to spread from person to person. Association of Development Agencies in Bangladesh (ADAB) conducted engagement of the civil society for COVID-19 response in Dhaka North, Dhaka South, and 30 wards of Chattogram City Corporation with an aid from World Health Organization (WHO). The agreement was made on April 01, 2021 between ADAB and Shishu Protiva Bikash Kendro (SPBK). We developed the implementation plan, conducted orientation, follow up meetings, miking, miking in the mosques, delivered leaflets, stickers, festoon, posters, masks, sanitizers, arranged consultation meetings, advocacy meetings.
